July 2024 - ride to Saul Junction

You can't trust the British weather can you? not even in July. We set off along the canal with a promise of warm, cloudy, and dry conditions, and we made it to the wonderful Stables Cafe at Saul Junction, bone dry after a pleasant 9 miles or so of steady riding.

Over lunch it started to drizzle, and then poured down for half an hour or so. This provided a good excuse to stay a bit longer in the cafe and enjoy cake too!

After careful scrutiny of the rain radar we made a dash for home as soon as there was a break in the clouds. Fortune smiled on us and everyone made it home, slightly damp at worse.

The boys bravely remained outside to keep an eye on the bikes...
...the ladies were far more sensible and retreated inside to be nearer the cakes.
