Kayakers - join us for time spent in idyllic surroundings on warm, sunny days, viewing the
Cotswold countryside from a different perspective, paddling along lakes, rivers, canals,
quays or dockyards, for relaxation, supportive companionship and moderate exercise.
Initially the group will paddle locally, but with increasing ambition to paddle for longer
durations in some more distant, adventurous locations.
The group is intended for kayakers with some experience, who own their own boat. Keen
novices are of course welcome, in which case professional training sessions will be
mandatory. Training cannot be provided by this group but advice on training venues will be
offered. Also for novices initial costs for your own equipment should be expected - please
ask for further details.
Competence in swimming is absolutely essential.
Because the activity is so weather dependent, events will be organised at relatively short
notice, once or twice a month, throughout the year whenever conditions allow.
This will be a team activity, with members paddling together and supporting each other.
Each trip will include a picnic or a visit to a pub, for members to socialise and become
better acquainted.
